Diana's Green Tea SuperSoy Shake

  • 1 cup vanilla flavored soymilk (calcium fortified)
  • 1 cup iced green tea, unsweetened
  • 1/4 cup orange juice concentrate
  • 6-10 baby carrots
  • 3/4 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (unflavored or sweetened, depending on taste preference)
  • 1 Tbsp each wheat bran, oat bran, wheat germ, flaxseed
Directions:
  • Blend together for 1 - 2 minutes.
Makes: ~ 4 cups

This is a very *light* tasting shake. When made with the unflavored yogurt, it is particularly preferred by people undergoing chemo who cannot tolerate sweet foods.

Special notes:
  1. Either use calcium-fortified soymilk or calcium-fortified OJ concentrate, not both. The body can only absorb ~500-600 mg calcium from one meal.
  2. Prostate cancer patients - read my FAQs regarding the amount of calcium in your diet.
  3. If more protein is needed, consider adding soy protein powder, whey protein powder, or dried skim milk powder.
